My first food post will be a recipe for my favorite cake: Oreo Cake!
I came across a different version of this recipe a couple of years ago. However, since I didn’t like the ingredients this recipe used, I decided to alter it while still using the basis of that other recipe. I think this alteration made the cake perfect and, although it’s quite fattening, I just cannot resist this cake!
To bake this cake, you will need the following:
The first step to make this cake is to crunch two rolls of the Oreo cookies. After the cookies are crunched, stir them in the butter. Fill the springform pan with the cookies and butter. After this is done, mix the powdered sugar and the cream cheese. Then, mix 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar with the whipped cream until it is stiff. After both the mixes are done, mix these two together. Take approximately half of the final mix and divide it on top of the butter and cookies in the springform pan.
The next layer consists of custard (banketbakkersoom). To make this, follow the instructions on the package. Divide the custard in the spring form. Finally, spread the remaining mix of cream cheese, powdered sugar and whipped cream on top of this.
The roll of Oreo cookies that is left can be used to decorate the cake. The cake will taste best if it is put in the fridge for a couple of hours before eating.
Welcome to my blog! From now on I will not only post pictures, but other cool things as well!
